The Top of The Page...)
Over the years, there has
been a lot of debate as to whether or not the effects of second hand
smoke are dangerous. In recent years, second hand smoke has been officially
classified as a "known human carcinogen" by the US Environmental Protection
Agency (EPA), the US National Toxicology Program, and the International
Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC), a branch of the World Health Organization.
Tobacco smoke contains more
than 4,000 chemical compounds. More than 60 of these compounds can cause
cancer. Also, second hand smoke immediately affects the heart and blood
circulation in a harmful way. If a person is subjected to second hand
smoke over a prolonged period of time, they could get lung cancer or
suffer the effects of heart disease.
Even if you do not care
what happens to your own body, you should be concerned about the effects
that second hand smoke can have on those around you, include the people
that you love. These days, it is easier than ever to quit smoking since
there are so many smoking cessation aids that you can buy. But let's
be honest. Quitting is never easy. However, with products such as Smoke
Deter (shown above), you can make it a little easier on yourself as
well as those people who are around you when you smoke.
